I have just cracked open a cold beer, to try to warm myself up. Spent all day, freezing my ******** off sorting out MOT, Tax, removing and fitting new stickers(thanks Nat), polishing it up, and riding it in between snow showers.

I am now well and truly skint, the new Diablos will have to wait until next month.

I am well pleased with the progress of the bike, I just need to become more familiar with the way it delivers its power, it has a good mid range and the gearbox is first class but I think I will go down a tooth on the front to see if I can get it to pull better in first gear.

My first impression on how it handles is that it feels very long, the low speed handling is poor(I dont think this will be too much of a problem when it is dry)
It seems to almost fall into low speed corners and feels unstable.
I do however need a new Headlight as my headlight is off a Euro model and I had to do the black insulation tape thing so it passed its MOT.

I should think you`re well pleased with that,T8`s are very succeptable to tyre choice and wear mate so I wouldn`t worry to much unless someone`s been hamfisted with the settings,still looks good.

Finally succumbed myself today and whipped off the sil motor decals and replaced them with Termi ones...!

Its the first time ive noticed ? white frame black wheels is standard for the SP4 did the 851 strada in the same year retain the white wheels? as my 93 strada has bronze frame and black wheels where as the SP5 appears to have bronze frame and wheels.
Is this just a supply issue with Ducatis suppliers that they just fitted any colour that was in stock?

Should that model have floating rear brake?

I think all the 888s had the same rear brake as far as I know.

Good question about the brake. I've seen a mix on SP2-4's. I always thought they should be floating, and that people had changed them or damaged them in a fall. Any ideas ?

Hi guys. To the best of my knowledge..

Shmoki - Brakes on SP2/3/4 are above the swing-arm, and SP5 are below. None of them were originally fully floating.

Simon - Swing-arm on SP4 had "Michelin" sticker originally. Get 'em on eBay!

Ian - SP4 had the "No. 1" sticker on the fairing as well as SPS. They looked exactly the same (unless you looked 'under the skin' for cooling fan/carbon seat etc).

(One visual difference.. SP4 had alloy Termis - which separates them. SPS had carbon. Badge on the top yoke of all said "SP4". Those numbered 001 - 100 were SPS).

WeV,is it just the SP5(possibly SPO)which has floating rear brake?(I think)
