Following on from my time for a change thread
http://www.ducatisportingclub.com/sh...d.php?t=208171

I'm going to make the most of the time over Xmas and get on with my two bikes and sort out a harness for Dallas's new DD bike, as well as rebuild a 620 engine that needed a replacement crank

Below firstly is a pic of where I was at with the #1 bike and the second pic is just about where I am with the #2 bike, although both bikes now have Exhaust headers and a 2 into 1 conversion

Hopefully by the new year they will have progressed some

Started rebuilding the 620 engine today. Tomorrow morning will be spent shimming the gearbox and the crankshaft and then bolting both cases together before heading over to H-Cafe for lunch :)

And that's exactly what happened, got the cases bolted together then headed over the cafe to meet up with Andy & Karen Claridge, Kev and Trudi Palmer and we were also joined by Steve Baden who was the only one of us foolish enough to be on his bike, then again his wrist hasn't been out of plaster that long following his crash at Pembrey (1st Visit) so good to see him riding again, just a shame the it really tipped it down just as we left H-Cafe

Few pics of the engine rebuild

Manuals Don't you just love them

Two pictures of Extracts from the 620 workshop manual

What inner spacer behind the Primary gear

Which is the smaller valve pocket in the top of the piston

With the first 620 engine now only needing the Alternator cover fitting (need to get some more liquid gasket) I decided to strip a 583 bottom end I recently bought off Ebay. The cases need throwing as the rear engine mount is damaged beyond repair.
The Crank will go into another 583 engine I have where the Alternator came loose and damaged the end of the crank. The remainder will come in handy when I rebuild the ex James Thompson/Chris Woods 583 DD engine

Some bikes have expensive gasket sets required for a rebuild but not our DD bikes so helps keep the costs of a rebuild down

Clipon positioning, unlike the one on your supersport the Monster yoke is stepped leaving little room to place the clipons below the yoke

How you getting on with fitting the 916 tank to the SS frame, I was hoping to have seen some photos by now
