Replacement Pads - recommendation

Just fitting 998 calipers to my 996 and I was wondering what pads people would recommend to fit.

I tend to use my bike for fast road riding, bit of playing in Europe and the occasional track day.

Cheers
Simon

There is a good choice of 3, SBS, Performance Friction or Bendix, Nelly on here I believe champions the Bendix variety.

Hi Simon,

I used to use Carbon Loraine, but my local shop stocks Bendix now instead.
either will be fine, and are miles better than the Ducati pads.

See you Sunday :)

Yep. Bendix get the thumbs up here. Been stocking them for a few years now and they still hold their own very well to the newer compounds at very good money.
The MF compound would see you right.

Thanks for the responses.

To be honest i have heard of most of the makes of brake pads but never Bendix before. I was wondering where i could get them (as John W shop no longer stocks them), but nelly you say you stock them?

cheers
Simon

Yes mate. I can mail them to you, no worries. 01623 238944 think I have stock of them.

I have a set of Carbon Loraine pad on standby for the THREE sets of P34 calipers I'm running on my various bikes but...

They are still waiting to be fitted as the OEM Brembo pads still going strong, even on my ST after a run to Italy and back.

I cant imagine my braking is that controlled so the originals must be pretty good or I'm in for a real treat when I finally switch ;)

The stock Brembos are pretty good Frank.. They're just bloody expensive. Personally I've found the feel better from the bendix and they handle harder use better like track days etc. they are also kind to discs. Most aftermarket brands give similar results.... As with everything cost plays a part and for me the bendix really shine on value and that's why I've stuck with them.
