Goodwood Circuit - tha\' tha\' that\'s all, folks ...

A little bird told me that Goodwood Motor Racing Circuit will no longer be hosting motorcycle trackdays for the foreseeable future.

A call to the Circuit itself has confirmed this. The reason - motorbikes go too fast.

Next, I suspect that car parks around the country will begin to close because they tend to fill up with cars.

I ask you ... ffs.

Sounds like maybe the nasty 'litigation' word has reared its ugly little head once more ???

Maybe the outcome after a nasty accident to a motorcyclist there last year.

We know that happens on other circuits. :(

Mr Bushell, can the club afford to buy Goodwood? :o :rodent:

That would really upset the neighbours :D

The noise restrictions are far too tight for it to be our circuit :(

Shame, as it's my local, and a great, fast circuit.

Won't stop us going through the tunnel on the rev limiter tho!

The case i'm thinking of when all the other participants were sent home was I'm told by a mate who was there was put down to the dangerous condition of the track surface.

I was at a td at goodwood last year that was cancelled by the management because it was too slippery for bikes ... and he said it was because of all the crap the _cars_ leave on it from their fuel additives and water additives not just their oil which stayed _in_ the track surface for several days after a meeting :puzzled:
It _was_ damp, and not clearing very fast, and a complete **** did plough into the chicane way too fast for the condidtions, so it didnt seem a bad judgement actually.
