Hot stuff

What are the usual operating temps for a 748? Had the bike out yesterday in what was probably the first really warm day since last year, and the gauge was showing around 100 in what I would have thought were optimum conditions (steady 70mph on motorway), and bouncing towards 120 when I got snarled up in slow moving traffic. Bike felt v.hot through my rough and ready gauge (ie my arse).

I've just change the hose clamps, coolant and thermostat so am a bit worried. Fluid level is between the 2 lines and fan is working.

TIA

Sounds about right to me.

What hoses did you replace the originals with??

Dibble 09-Jun-2005 14:46

indeed sounds right here as well .... got proper warm yesterday evening when i went for a blast ....

Didn't actually change the hoses as they looked okay, and I'm too skint to fork out for Samcos at the moment. I've probably just forgotten what it's like to ride in warm weather.
I've also changed to ti from carbon cans so I guess they may radiate/conduct more heat.

Yep, I get roasted nuts at about the same temperature.
