999s with single sided swinger

nathanhu 27-Aug-2003 20:53

what do you think ? better or not:ninja:

Dibble 27-Aug-2003 22:00

no point to it .. bit like putting an MV seat unit on 748/9**.... naff

nathanhu 27-Aug-2003 22:07

tried to put to good use a spare set of 996 wheels , a bit less of a mess about for tyre changes and tyre warmers

iainzx 27-Aug-2003 22:14

single swinger always looks better than a double sider but probably does not do as good a job as the origional

Rattler 27-Aug-2003 22:25

Looks good.....

....bet it was a pig to do though!!!

nathanhu 27-Aug-2003 22:29

fitts straight in, only altered the left bush slightly and used the rear tie rod from the 996 and a different spring seat from Öhlins 20mm deaper

Oh,yes.
The designers origionally wanted a single swinger, but Ducati Corse had the final say.Double sided it is then.

It looks MUCH better. As suggested though, would be better with the Corse magnesium job, but can't be beaten for wow factor!

From a performance/handling perspective IMHO it is a step backwards, but in the styling stakes, what a winner.
