Money saving biking ideas. Some ace ways to save money but stay on two wheels. Short of cash to fill ya bike for a rideout? Just find the nearest hill to where you live, push yer bike to the top and freewheel down, repeat until exhausted of you’ve clocked up yer usual Sunday morning blast mileage. Wheelie everywhere, it saves wearing out yer front tyre and brakes. Get together with the group of mates you meet with down yer local bike haunt. Ride yer bikes down and just leave them parked there, then take it in turns to drive their together in one car, a great way to save bike running costs but still enjoy yer weekly meet up!! Don’t buy expensive real carbon fibre, just cover yer bike in that nice stick on carbon lookie likie sheets, no will ever notice…………..will they??? Scour the local car boot sales for bargain kit…………..there’s nowt wrong with waxed cotton gear, don’t over wax it though cos you’ll slide for miles if you do fall off. Don’t bother actually buying a bike, just keep taking bikes out for extended test rides. The local dealers might twig after a while but that’s your cue to ‘fess up your actually the motorcycle tester for the local bugle newspaper and yes it would be nice if that 1198 was available for extended test this summer. Re sole yer biking boots using worn out tyres. Use the windows from window envelopes that come for free in the post to make tear offs Any more for any more:D Ray. |
The pills aren't working anymore then Ray? Try upping the doseage or stop taking them with alcohol! You tight northerners want to save more money, you could always sit in your garage on your bike making brum brum noises or arrange a rideout, destination your house and just wait for your mates to arrive - of course you'd need to wear your leathers around the house, but then you probably are already as you will have the heating off at the moment until it gets really cold. I hear even Rattler is making savings - he's given the butler sunday nights off WeeJohnyB |
Could try one of these Also useful is to dispense with the number plate. As well as a useful reduction in weight, and hence an improvement in fuel consumption, you can then avoid the dreary necessity of making annual road tax and insurance payments. Ray, by starting this thread, are you not playing up somewhat to the Yorkshire stereotype? |
