No Limits Track Days I got back from Jerez at 2am'ish this morning after 5 days on track with the No Limits lads - including our very own WeeJohnnyBee. I haven't written a report yet, and I'm not really sure I want to, but I just wanted to plug No Limits and the guys there. I had a few minor hiccups while I was there and these guys not only helped to sort things out but were a great laugh and a really good bunch of blokes to hang out with. Even when I looked a touch suicidal. Special mentions have to go to Mark, Dave and of course WeeJohnnyBee. Dave even sorted out the equipment to get my clutch bled, then did it himself and just generally made sure I didn't descend into self-harming and well, others-harming too! He dragged me out onto the track yesterday afternoon, when I was looking for some petrol and a match, to try and make sure I had a good time. I'm sure you've all heard the phrase "Familiarity breeds contempt" and WeeJohnnyBee could have been forgiven for not paying too much attention to Rattler, Jon and myself but he was every bit as professional as you'd hope and would still take the pish when required :D All the boys were fantastic and I was very impressed with the way these guys ran things. Gissa a free track day now fella's? Fella's? |
All top fellas as you say, Lawsey is a top guy as is Mark, WJB.... the list goes on, can't wait to see them in the next month or so :) |
glad to see youre back in one piece, mate. you gonna buy me a beer one night this week and tell me all ? (b) |

The pub is still open :) |
TP Hope it wasn't all as bad as you make it sound mate? The No Limits crew are top lads and to hear they looked after you is no surprise at all. Gis a proper run down when you get chance then? And if I set off to yours for a beer now it would definitely be shut when I got there so I am having one or two for you here ;) No news from Rattler or Jon yet then? |

Unfortunately it was that bad mate - I used just over one tank of fuel in 5 days of track time. Yes, only 1!!!!! I covered around 80 very expensive on track miles. Jon is probably tucked up in bed and Rattler should be on his way home I'd imagine. He was on track today as well. I got a text from him and today was the best day since we'd been there. Typical ... |
Beans, spill? Mechanical or off related mate? |

Mate, it just reads like a list of excuses and makes me sick of it all but here goes ... I had a series of clutch problems (damn ex-WSB slipper), it pished down a lot and the track took ages to dry because it was so cold etc, I didn't go out in those conditions (when the bike was working!) because I didn't want to risk binning it in those conditions on rennsports - the bike is expensive and I have a large emotional investment in it, I'm so unfit I could only do 5-6 laps without getting really sore and cramping (4 mths of nursing a broken ankle I suppose) ... blah blah blah I didn't come off though. |
That sounds shite, mate. :( |

It wasn't the best trip ever  |
In brief we only had one and a half days of rain out of five days there. The real problem was that it rained nearly every evening. The sun wouldn't really heat up until noon, so you only had a window of opportunity of about five hours. It was always after 3.00pm that the circuit would finally dry out enough to consider venturing out. It wasn't so much the dampness, but the puddles that always appeared on your entry line into corners. This would mean you spent more time concentrating on the puddles and not you’re chosen line. Every time you got a bit brave you would have a moment and loose confidence. The last couple of hours though on Monday afternoon made it all worth while for me. This is one fantastic circuit and I for one will be returning in the not too distant future. The frill of riding this place is too alluring. If you ever get the chance to ride here, take it you won’t be disappointed.. |

When we were there last year it rained for a morning and the track then took hours to dry even in 20C+ temps, weirdest thing I've seen, but as you say Jon it's a cracker and I will be going back hopefully at some point this year |
I absolutely agree - the track is awesome. I just wish I knew my way around it! I'd love to go back when it was warm and dry, it would be a lot of fun. |

It was really warm and dry yesterday!!! ;) I got sunburnt and couldn't get back into the hire car at the end of the day as it was too hot!!!! ;) About bluddy time!!!! ;) |

Pish off! Bastid ... |
so, on the dry laps what times were you guys putting in then? |
I think I went around in about 3 minutes. Could have been longer ... I think I did about 7 or so dry laps. |
Sorry you had a tough time, TP. Good to see you bigging up the No Limits boys, though, in spite of your disappointment. Dave's the best instructor I've had, that's for sure - on a par with WJB no question - just soooo patient and determined to make me understand what he's saying. Brilliant! Now get fit and stop winging :devil::devil::P |

It was never really that dry Lily. The best I could achieve was a couple of 2:12's |
WJB looking a bit too schumacheresque for my liking in that picture mate... |
Quote:
Ha! It makes a change from Jon walking around the pit garages saying "Schumacher probably used this power point!" And Tim and I saying, "No, he hires someone to plug his phone charger in!" |
Quote:
Do you think he pished in the same urinal TP:D |
Quote:
 No, he hires ... ahh, nevermind. |
