exhaust noise level Is there a quick/easy way to check the noise level of your exhaust, as we have Assen and Castle Combe coming up. Not to mention the DD rules on noise limits? It would be nice to know be for race day if we were within the limit. I suspect that some of the bikes may not be. I know my RS250 was measured at 104.5 last time I took it to Castle Combe which suprised me as it was the standard exhaust. Mike |
Only if you know someone with with a noise meter! I think the meter should be held 0.5m from the zorst outlet at a 45° angle, but at a CC trackday I've heard they get a little closer! I'd be suprised if any of them went over 100 dbA Mine read only 96 at CC last year. |
ours are about 97, tho see a post I put up last night about baffles. Will await Fil2's answer from the RC about the trackday info, tho we are all ok for the racing Mike (I would think) |
I went and read the destructions, it said 104 and thought we'd be ok, Max was 96 lastyear, Dessie is a tad louder but not by that much i'd have thought. |
How loud is a stright through? I have access to a sound meter... might give it a try... Brapp Brapp. |
Mine is straight through and louder than a race termi system. Be interesting if you could do a check. Mike |
I think the trackday sessions on Friday are 98db though. We're taking db killers ;) |

I may have to steal them for Dessie ;) :saint: |

Go to any Maplins electronics store and buy a sound meter for between £25 and £50. Bish-bosh. Problem sorted...unless your bike is too loud. ;) I used a meter from work instead. |
Guess what we have a test meter at work:lol: so I will give mine a check tonight. What sort of rpm will they be measuring at? Mike |
