748s for S4R or not

Im looking to swap my 748s for a big naked have looked at everything best deals so far on BMW (sheesh im getting old!:lol: im 24 to ) or the S4r.

Dealers gonna give 6k for my 53 plate 748s leaving me to pay 2300, this a good deal?

Is the S4r a lot more powerful? like a different world i hope:D

Anyone got both?

bradders 05-Apr-2005 20:56

which BMW?

Brent 05-Apr-2005 21:20

Swap the stealth bike for a BMW???!! Surely not. An S4r I can understand (see Dibble's comments in last Sunday's Kent ride out thread).

Nattyboy 05-Apr-2005 22:26

£6ks good money p/x id say. If you havent riden an S4R - your in for a treat ! NOTHING like a 748 - Not that a 748's bad - they just make there power in very different ways.

My mate rode my tuned S4R the other day, and he reckoned it was as quick as his mates 2001 blade on the back roads..!!

Do it - you WONT regret it !!!

Thanks guys I thought 6k for mine was quite good:D:D

Just got to decide now, Brent I do love my stealth bike but its not practical or comfy, but im so glad I got to own my dream bike for 18 months and got some termis to :D

The 748/9** is still the bees knees after all these years still draws looks over the latest jap offerings anywhere i go:D;)

Bradders see pic below for BMW a R1150r Rockster, looks good better in the flesh, been painted in boxster rep colours to

Eh? what u mean Ian?

webbyc 06-Apr-2005 08:09

S4R v BMW - no contest!!!! Have you actually riden the S4R yet? If not you're in for an unexpected treat as Nattyboy says. Go on try one. If you can't get a test ride come over Surrey way for one of our meets and I'd be glad to let you have a go on mine - S4R that is before the inevitable comments come in from Dibble and the likes.

Lee1980 06-Apr-2005 08:23

Thanks Webby a test ride is not likely as theyre all new, and thanks for the offer to ride yourd looks good with termis to:cool:

Id never make it to Surrey on my 748s:lol one of the reasons i may swap it.

I guess the white wheels are a pain to keep clean? mine will be the red with white wheels/stripe, looks goooood

U have crash bungs? any recommended?

Whats Dibbs been saying?

Cheers

Lee...loads of dealers will offer you a run on an s4r mate..I believe moto rapido are getting one in shortly. You dont want that BMW mate..ive seen one when it had been down the road...nice big guages in the cylinder head (and the pull to the side because of the gyroscopic effect of the boxer twin).

If you can sell yours privatley..I know of a cracking S4R in blue and white (great colours IMO) for sale in Bristol...VERY low mileage !!!

Cheers
