Another \"wets\" question
 

Never used wets, hopefully I won't have to, but I've got some anyway.

So silly questions really...

What kind of pressures front and rear

And

I am assuming you don't use tyre warmers as there would be no point, and the deep tread etc would move around too much? I ask this as at the last trackday the majority were just on the bike, no warmers, but the odd one or two were using warmers..... :puzzled:

the new wets are pictured above and are much better that the old style (mx style tread) as they dont rip up as the track starts to dry (or not as badly as the older style)

the pdf file on the link gives all tyre pressures slick and wets

I usually run my wets at 32fr, 31Rr and I don't use tyre warmers, I had pleanty of fun on mine at Rockingham and have raced countless times on them.
I know of racers that do use warmers on there wets and you can usually find them camped close to the assembley area at race meetings. As Iquite often end up at the far end of the paddock which at Pembrey usually means on the grass I see little point of using warmers as by the time the dummy grid is assembled prior to the warm up lap I'd have no idea how much heat was left in my tyres. So by not using them I always know where I'm starting from. Certainly doesn't take long to warm them up.

I had a chat to Mark of Holbeach tyres at TA3 about this very point-he said no warmers on wets as the water will soon sap all the heat from them anyway.
I use 30psi front and rear on the TZ.

Cheers guys, I've got some metz wets, which I am going to get put on the spare wheels at the weekend, just in case, although I did see some new Michelin ones the other week which seem to be very cut on the side walls, dunno how much different that style of tread pattern compared to the semi MX style on the ones on mine are.

I run my wets at 30/30... no need for warmers as the heat is soon dispelled anyway, if you have never ridden on wets I can only offer two bits of advice,
1) Forget you are on wets, ride as if in the dry, but keep it smooth
2) Aim for the water, wets in the dry do not grip and wear out faster than a wearing out thing on sandpaper.

These are only my personal views and experiences, if you hurt yourself / fall off / look a prat dont blame me
