What an achievement !!! (spoiler)

Over winter a rider has no contract.
No testing/ setting up of a bike.
Gets a ride in one of the worlds toughest Championships.
Most of the tracks he has never seen before. (Imagine turning up at Cadwell for the first time and having a 200 bhp bike.

Then WINS THE CHAMPIONSIP

Gregorio Lavilla :burn:

Cracking achievement. Made it look so easy yesterday aswell.

Sad thing is (as someone stated in the programme), if a Spaniard can come over here and win the championship having not seen 75% of the tracks who is going to be the next British rider to win? Leon Haslam has come of age but apart from that? The odd flash from Tommy Hill, Rutter threw it away again (and is not with HM Plant HOnda next year). Who else?

Interesting to note that Troy Bayliss was there yesterday. Wonder if him and Lavilla will be team mates on GSE WSB team with Haslam and someone else in BSB?

Got a mate to tape it all while the machie at home taped WSB.

Watched all the BSB coverage last night. After the HRC steamroller of the early season who would have thought this would be the result.

Lavilla has shown his class as super sub. Funny how things turn out, I couldn't see Haydon staying on long enough to win a race never mind the championship.
Has Lavilla only fallen off once or twice all year at a race meet?

Some might say HRC give the championship away, but GSE were there to make sure they were there to take it when it matters...........the end. I can see why Rutter has been dropped, BUT he is a man of steel racing with the injuries he has this year.

Next year will be good, IF Lavilla doesn't defend the No 1 plate what odds on Haslam now?

A bad end the season from Hell for JR, is this gonna be how he signs out of BSB??? I hope not, get well soon.

Well done GSE Airwaves Ducati.

Ray.

And on a bike that people were say at the start of the season wasn't up to the job anymore !

desmojen 10-Oct-2005 20:04

Awesome job all round, there's life in the old desmo dog yet.
Gutted for Michael Rutter, I can't see that he deserved to be sacked, also more than gutted for JR, a terrible way to end the season.

Had a tear in my eye when Steve Plater beat Kiyo for the rostrum in the second race, go go gadget SP! A lovely bloke who couldn't deserve it more, and helped along by our very own AJ as well
