External Racing Parts I suppose some of you are interested about Racing parts from our bikes. If you agree, here are 2 pics of specific original parts from my Corsa 94. 1- Carbon parts 2- Braking parts Hope you'll enjoy ... oooh carbontastic, any chance you can post some other pics, I'm looking to turn my road bike into a Corsa rep of sorts so detail would be good - shots of instrumentation, yokes, front nosecone frame, subframe, frame etc cheers Neil |
Phil, Great ducati porn:lol::lol: |
Market place !!!!!!!! :D |
Neil's reply ... Take a seat and enjoy ... !!! ;) |
Hope it helps ... |
Welcome on board ... |
Subframe ... |
Airbox view ... |
OOOoohhh, midday ... blue sky, sun is shinning, my 888 is waiting for me !!!!!!!! Hope you'll ride today !!! Phil |
Phil, Are you going to break it for spares:puzzled: |
break it for spares :o:o ****, I'll take - airbox, sub-frame, yokes, carbon nose frame/intake, instrument cluster & housing, radiator & oil cooler,..... the hell with it I'd take the whole bike |
Phil, It looks like all of the carbon fiber parts in the first shot are either reproduction or have been thickly coated with many layers of clear. Are you replacing the original parts with reproduction stuff to ride it on the track? Brian |
if those carbon bits are repro - just where do they come from, I feel an order coming on !! |
"""Are you going to break it for spares ??"""" --> No !!!!!! I took these pics last year, when I decided to restore the bike ... I removed each part for inspection, cleaning ... "Market place" title was a joke !!!! So Neil, a dream is ... free tax !!! It will be very soon 100% restored and store in my living room for winter time !!! ......... I won't forget pics ... !!! |
Carbon parts are original, except the clutch cover, open by mysel for my SP mod ... The whole has been coated, correct !!! |
beautiful :D, nice one Phil. |
Stop it!Stop it!Stop it! now you naughty boy!:( |
I hope so !!!!! :D :D |
aaaaaarrrrrgh :o:o:o |
Now that was uncalled for Phil ! I've always fancied a threesome ...:bouncy: |
nice pics, phil!! p.s have you managed to find me a case yet? |
Yep, I phoned to several private connections ... All of them surprised about the query, coz so difficult to find... However, confident if patient ... ... I love your daily mood ... !!! :sing: |
cheers phil, much appreciated.:sing: |
Phil, does the nosecone fairing bolt straight onto the carbon air tubes or is there another assembly / subframe that is used ? if there is something else could you post pics. Also what are the fork mounting centres on this bike ? I've got the offer of some carbon air tubes and I want to see if it woud fit up before I part with my money !! btw my fork spacing is now 207mm. cheers Neil |
OMG that pic of the 3some had me all weak at the knees ;) I didnt realise the 888 used a pressurised airbox, I thought the fairing slots were essentially 'false' like the one under the headlight on my 900ss - Ducati were obviously well ahead of the game in the ram-air stakes!!! Great pics guys !!! Frank |
Neil, There is no subframe, but there is quite a bit of hardware, small brackets and such. I can try to find a photo if you'd like. Rgds, Rob [Edited on 11-11-2005 by Rob B] |
yeah that would be great Rob - I'll need to see the bracketry detail so I can get busy knocking stuff together ! cheers Neil |
Neil , I will take a pic tomorrow if you wish |
Hi Neil, Sorry for the late answer ... hard working day at the office, in spite of a national "day off" today ... Have a look to the joined file, espacially figures 8 and 9 !!! I'm quite sure, it will help you... Afterwards, have a look the my following attachment ... |
Here is the front part from an original Racing frame ... |
Then the brackets to support the lateral fairings ... |
And the front nose fixing mode ... Below : Fastener DZEUS Above: Original screws Any question ????????? |
cheers Phil that's great - my next question is - where are those lights from ?? cheers Neil |
It's a French initiative from a former racer in charge of carbon parts company. They were used during endurance races. On the joined file (sorry for the quality ...) you can see a red rubber on these lights on Mertens/Polen/Picotte's bike along 24H Bol d'or 1993 ... |
Here's a pic of lights set ... |
An individual ... |
Phil, do you know if these parts still available for purchase or are they like hens teeth !!! I'd love to get hold of a set of the carbon mounts and the lights themselves - but it's probably a case of having something made up I suppose. The info is great by the way - do you have any detail schematics of the bracketry for the carbon air tubes or if not could you find time to post a sketch with dimensions ?? thanks very much Neil |
Next week, I'll phone to this mate to whom I used to deal with ... I'll not be surprised to learn they're still available... By air tube, do you mean the big carbon part from the nose fairing to the airbox, around the steering column ??? (Sorry but I'm not very familiar with english language ...) I made a big mistake when I installed this carbon part ... I forgot my camera and have any pic ... Which exact dimensions would you like to get ??? |
yes the big carbon part - sorry, It's the dimensions of the mounting brackets - items 6 & 15 on the schematic you posted. many thanks Neil |
