With the pads..note..I originally used the strada front seat which you have to cut about to fit proper..but Ive now fitted an SP5 seat (one left ;)) and this is completely flat and can be bolted to the seat unit perfectly).

And the finished article when it came back from the painters !!

Do you have a pic of the area around the back light.

Did you cut the rear bottom edge of the seat unit to fit down over the light?

Spoke to Barry the famous fairing maker today, took a picture of Nattys bike with me,he doesnt have a mould for an 888.I had an idea of using my existing strada seat and moulding in the pillion cover, bad idea as it happens as fibreglass wont bond to the OE plastic panels.Advice was,if i buy a fibreglass seat any weak points can be corrected and the lugs on a strada seat that sit on the subframe prongs can be added.ARD have them advertised for £100,Ducati Aprilia Kamna the German people have one on fleabay at the moment(cant figure out how to pay for that, dont speak German) going cheap. Was hoping that there would be one that fitted easily.Without the pillion seat locking down, what holds the back of a single seat in place?

Yes Andy..that bit had to be tidied up/squared off quite a bit as it was all over the place. I was originally going to use some screen trim to finish it off and prevent vibration, but my painter made such a good job I didnt need to !

Its pretty secure just being mounted at the front belive it or not, but I fitted some velcro above the tail light to make it fit snug..works a treat.

On my race 888 I cut down the Strada subframe to prevent chafing (of the seat, not me)and also used the original sidepanel wellnut mountings with a spacer.
This worked fine even for track antics.

Ricambi-Weiss do a single seat unit for €80 plus postage (which is usually quite cheap) and their quality is pretty good.

A lot of us DD boys use their fairings and they're one of the few places that do them.

On the subject of Strada seats...

Does anyone know why there's a hole in the seat unit on its right-hand side? What purpose does it serve??

Its so they can plug into the ECU to read stored errors etc I think..
