Bit of a defeat-ist attitude though:

It’s been difficult for everyone at Ducati – we expected to do a lot better this year but it hasn’t happened and it’s taken halfway through the year before we even got going,...

Best of luck to him with whatever he does.

Not unexpected. I hope he can stay in MotoGP, but I don't know where he'd fit.

He's obviously struggled with the 2004 bike even more than Capirossi has struggled, but hey, they've both struggled this year.

Remember though, that in 2003 he showed that given a competitive bike he can put it on the podium. Anybody that can do that is no slouch are they.

What has just occured to me is who "have" and I say have (instead of will) they signed to replace him in 2005?

I mean Ducati, or any other team wouldn't drop a factory rider without already having a replacement would they? Not at GP level surely.
