Do i buy a S4r or a S4?

Hi,

Just wanted some opinions on which bike to buy. I like trackdays, every now and then. Dont mind the looks of either bike. Have found both bikes in my budget.

If i buy the S4 will i always wish i went for the R?

If your doing trackdays then I think the S4 has less ground clearance unless you change to high level cans and rear sets. Though I have heard the S4r is easy to deck out on track to if you go for it:o on the road both be fine i expect.

The S4 is 916cc and S4r 99c so more power. Best reason for the S4r for me is the single sided swingarm looks so cool:cool::cool:

S4R if it's within your budget S4 if dough is right cheap...

S4r if you can stretch to it

Having ridden both-in a spirited manner-I would go for the S4R. The S4 is a bit 'flighty' on the front end, great if you are a wheelie merchant but fairly crap when you want to chuck it into a bend either on track or the road. The S4R is very planted on the front end and gives loads of 'feel' from the front tyre-just my opinion.

Biased..but R. Some good prices knocking about at the moment, and engine performance aside, the showa rear suspension is far superior to the sachs on the S4.

S4R is an awesome track tool but ground clearance is an issue (see pic) which can be slightly helped by raising the rear ride height.

S4's still look great though in senna colours and if you could always bag a cheap one, and spend the difference on mods and a 955 conversion..

Yours confusingly..

You might want to get a supply of pegs and brake pedals...

Or if you don't like the plumbing on the S4R, then get the S2R 1000.....

C.O - I think you'll find that Ford Cortina radiators are quite 'de rigeur' actually..
