3Up Racing reduced to 2 - thieving scum!

It doesn't look like I'll get to race again this year as I've woken up to an empty garage this morning. Yup, the thieving *******s stolen the bike, and also most spares like wheels, body work, helmets, leathers (with my name stitched on the back), gloves, boots, etc. They also took a number of power and hand tools.

Looks like to came through a back window and out the front of the garage. It must have happened during the night while we were asleep. I can't believe that didn't hear anything since it's an attached garage. Interestingly, there was a bunch of stuff they didn't take: two push bikes (nice ones), all my mechanics tools in a large rollaway chest, a few power tools, etc., but they took my 60cm spirit level!

Police have been around and they reckon that some things will turn up, especially since the bike is a one-of-a-kind, not road legal nor registered and none of the spares fit a standard bike. Not holding up to much hope to be honest though.

Anyway, if you see someone offering this bike for sale, or an unusual amount of race parts like Ohlins forks, shocker, magensium yokes, race wheels with Michelin wets and Michelin Race 2, carbon race body work, etc, etc, I'd appreciate a word.

Various theories about the kind of scum that did this. If it was a professional bike gang that new I had this bike, I doubt they would have taken all the other stuff, even if they were trying to disguise themselves as opportunistic thieves. If it was opportunistic scum, which is more likely, then they have no clue what they've got. They won't even be able to start it!

Any input/feedback would be greatly appreciated. I will post this on some other sites as well, but feel free to spread the word.

Here are a couple of pics of the bike as it looked yesterday and one with the other set of body work:

Not having fun at the moment...

Dibble 01-Jul-2005 16:21

that is truly sh** news mate .. heres hoping for you ..... :(

everton 01-Jul-2005 16:21

:( ****... sorry to hear that Felix.

Sounds like a pro job though - what they've taken could be lifted quietly (bike excluded) - I would think the rollaway chest would be too heavy to lift and would make quite a noise being moved hence leaving it behind.

I take it your bike wasn't anchored?

I must admit I stand & anchor mine & leave the trembler alarm on.

neilkeogh 01-Jul-2005 16:24

Have always found your input informative for the track day virgin like myself .....................Monday the 4th looms!!!!!

As the feds say you should get all/most of your gear back... gods speed you do!:)

Have posted it on http://www.hullbikers.com

skidlids 01-Jul-2005 17:23

Thats terrible news, I certainly hope the one off nature of your bike will lead to its recovery, these theiving scum need a harsher punishment than the law hands out to deter others.
here's hoping the scum get caught.

psychlist 01-Jul-2005 17:29

Shocked for you mate. As everyone else has said, lets hope the scum get caught red handed

antonye 01-Jul-2005 17:46

Felix,

Have you got a contact number for the Police, or an incident number.
Would be worth it just in case anything turns up.

stuart hill 01-Jul-2005 17:54

Sorry to hear about your loss, that's f**ing sh*te that. I know, I've had bikes (plaural!) stolen in the past.
I'll keep an eye out for anything that crops up on the our autotrader website.

GsxrAge 01-Jul-2005 18:02

Got a mate who rides in the north glos club, he will spread the word:cool:

desmojen 01-Jul-2005 18:06

Felix 01-Jul-2005 18:11

Thanks for all your sympathy. I can certainly do with that. What ****es me off as well is that the garage is fully alarmed and I simply didn't set it last night.

Police telephone is 0845 6060247 (ask for CID)
Incident number is 1051820108

Desmondo 01-Jul-2005 18:47

Hi Felix mate, just heard about this, what a sickener.

Murphy's law in action, by the sound of it.

Am spreading the word hereabouts.

We'll nail the b*stards.

Felix 01-Jul-2005 19:24

Heading off to the local pickey sites now!

Mr C 01-Jul-2005 19:51

Jon 01-Jul-2005 21:41

I feel for you Felix, like Keefyb I had abike nicked from my garage in the dead of night. For ages afterwards I would get this sick feeling in the pit of my stomach every time I went into the empty garage. I know none of this helps and only the full recovery of the bike will every satisfy you. I really do hope you get a good result.

matboyslim 01-Jul-2005 22:52

That is really bad news! Just seen it on VD sadly you can do all the things you think you need to to stop things like this happening and still they are that determine to get what they want it makes you think why did i bother!
Really hope something turns up for you or someone saw something and can help!

Lily 01-Jul-2005 23:36

Felix

I am so gutted for you :( Jon rang and told me today and I just felt sick for you.

If I had not just sold the 748 you could have used her to race on :(

If you are still coming to Oulton you are welcome to share Bob with me for the day as I assume you are in the fast group.
