Who won the best prep\'d DD bike then

So did Johnny H come down and judge the best bike then?

NBs996 16-Aug-2005 00:16

Dave Reilly came and gave our bike an eyball.
I think it's a prize for the end of season, not just the one meet.

Keep it upright then Nick, with them all dropping like flies when its wet .You should be in with a chance.;)

JH wasn't there this weekend. Don't blame him either.

Has anyone booked sun for Brands?

butch890 16-Aug-2005 07:35

Rick Hackett was at Donny for the day and had a good look round at the bikes as did dave and myself i have told john to exclude our bike as my friendship with John would make his choice difficalt to say the least(even thiugh our bike is totally prepped by me,only the pc111 has been Johns work).
The prize will be presented by John in person at the DD dinner, the person in the lead at the moment is quite a surprise!

Nice idea this 'Best prepped bike' prize for 'privateer' bikes, and hats off to JHP and everyone involved for coming up with it.

My only observation (you knew I would have one didn't you) is that it would be nice if the "rules" took into account the "best prepped bike for the available budget" since someone who's scraped a race bike up out of bits (a la Skidlids and others) has probably put more effort in than someone with enough wonga to go out and buy a new bike. But perhaps this is being taken into account anyway.

Whatever.... It's a brilliant idea and a generous prize. All credit to those involved.

Didnt see anyone down at our end of the pits (Us, Skids, Psychlist, Senna 3, Scooter916 etc) all day (except Tim M from Ducati) - and bike wasnt left unattended.

I even polished the painty bits too:D

ps: bike on the track cost so far £2,786 - including the latest engine & 2nd set of tyres :o

I hear underseat exhausts are very much en-vogue this year!

There's only three bikes I can think of that cut the mustard, two are black and none of them are mine! Good luck to all concerned. :D

oh Ali - I'm not reading that out to Alan tonight - about underseat zausts:o
He'll be pulling the one off the tri-colour road bike to fit to the DD bike otherwise. (he was thinking of doing that earlier this year - till I threatend him with divorce if he did!)
