2007 - Thoughts/suggestions

OK, before anyone starts crying or thinking that I'm on a wind up, I'm not!

Here are some of my thoughts to how DD could be better in 2007.

I've not emailed the RC with this, as I think the other riders need to have a look and make suggestions too - I'm sure there are better ideas than mine!

I know that the RC are looking to have a discussion about 2007, so lets have a think about how we can improve things.

My suggessions (so far)...

Rules Unchanged - This needs to be confirmed now.
NO 695's - Unless Ducati are giving them away?
6 UK rounds - ALL points count (12 races).
1 Assen round - non-championship round.
No 'long' race - Keep it simple, 6 rounds, 12 races. Long races are too risky (and boring at Snett).
ALL points to count - This will encourage people to turn up and reward those that do. Dropping races leads to smaller grids and punishes those that do all races.
1 person to run the series - Elected by the riders. This needs to be a full time position, like Membership Secretary or Treasurer. DD needs someones full attention. No Committees or rider reps, it's too complicated.
Trophies - If the club(s) we race with offer trophies - accept them!

That reads well to me and makes perfect sense :)

Maybe a move to NE club as we are more club racing than superclub too ?

Agreed, Assen shouldn't be a points round, and people who usually don't go as well are getting more points than others purely because not everyone can make it.

I don't mind racing on the same grid, it's an option we'll have to accept realistically for 2007, however the rules should stay the same and be confirmed now.

Also having one person to run it that is 100% dedicated would be better too as you're only dealing with one person then, but how much is the work load? The rider rep idea isnt bad but how much say to they get?

More club rounds too if we have to stay with N.E, maybe with the occasional SClub?

I only disagree on the Assen round, I'd prefer it to be a points scoring round as well.

I do agree. But then I'd rather have it as a points scoring round from a motivation point of view. If no point and I'm a bit tight money wise the previous month, I'll drop it for sure.

I would like to see the 583's and 620's split next year....if we dont have the numbers to run our own grids then split with cb5' or hornets or another class.?.....

and

Get on the rounds which will potentially offer us the most track time ie club level.?..maybe a mix....?

Other than that the suggestions sit well with me..................

Assen should be no points...the track n trip alone is motivation enough imho.....but i hope to go either way.
