Might need to check the spindle diameters but I believe the design is the same.

What year SS is it? I have a brand new spare from an early model (prior to around '94/5).

Darren.. the SS is a 95 M reg, Will check today if its the same part number... My mates MOT is next week and hes really worried it will fail for the speedo not working :(

Many thanks for all your help.

Nah mate! My ST passed it's MOT with no speedo.

They don't ride it, they just prod it about and check for loose wheel bearings and head bearings, loose exhausts and other bits falling off. Then they check your brakes, and that all the lights are working and aligned and that's about it.

They won't know the speedo ain't working just pushing it into the workshop.

I've got a spare speedo drive if you want one though. It cost me a tenner so it's yours for the same + postage if you need it.

Part number for the one I have is 49810011a. It fits the 17mm(16mm?) axle model as opposed to the later 20mm one (which is why I can't use it.

Darren.
