Front weel spacers 888 Strada Well it's me again! can some one with far more know how than me, let me know if there should be spacers between the forks and the wheel and if so what size and which side. I have put the speedo drive back in place and just have a feeling I have lost a spacer for the other side, or am I just loosing the plot regards Peter |
1 Attachment(s) Any help? Part 8 washer Parts 6,9,10 speedo drive |
Thanks I have that diagram but the wheel seems to sit slightly to the left of center (between the Forks) when its all bolted up but there is no spacer shown?? am I doing something wrong |
I have no spacers. The shoulder on the axle pin is one spacer and that faces to the bearing. The opposite side has the speedo drive as the spacer. Again, no washers except for speedo drive compnents. Make sure the theaded spacer is fully seated and piched up before you start to assemble the rest though. |
All of a sudden its all clear Parts 8 & 10 aint there of f##K that why its been handling like a bag of bolts. Spedo drive is also neatly machined on one side. I have been very very lucky it could have been nasty!!! |
Hi Rob when you say make sure the threaded spacer is fully seated in which direction ie dose it push in from the outside and rest at a stop? |
no, the inside. Flange next to the speedo drive |
I've been out to the garage I see what you mean thanks mate there is one more problem (I have not tried to seat that spacer in further yet) any idea why the plastic speedo drive is toutching the allen bolts holding the brake disc to the wheel?? Peter |
Maybe the wrong speedo drive. Other than that, no idea. BTW, my bike is fitted with Ohlins and 5 spoke mag marchie's. There may be some differences..... |
Thank's mate any chance of some pictures of your bike? Peter |
