Ohlins rear shock setting

1 Attachment(s)
I have just bought an Ohlins rear shock off of fleabay. It came from an 848 and has covered less than a 1000 miles from new.
I'm fitting it to my 1098 and was wondering if anyone could please tell me what the factory setting is for it please.

You can download the manual off the Ohlins site. It has the clicks in it

Which 848 is it supposed to have came from?

Its normally the other way round 848 owners get one from a 1098s

I thought that too. That's what was on the advert, I didn't query it as it looks immaculate. I would have thought if it had done such low mileage it will probably still be on it's factory setting. I just wanted to know so I could check so I have a starting point to set it up for me. I want to get it sorted before I go on this track day.

Start off with stock damping settings, but wind as much preload off as physically possible. They are loaded up way too much as stock.

If your doing a track day, there's bound to be one of the suspension companies there on the day, let them have a look at it.

Fitting the thing is a mess on, I found it easier to remove the exhaust mid section to allow the swing arm to drop lower to gain enough clearance.

Tho some people drop the swing arm from the pivot point ( my ABBA stand was in there at the time ).

I just received the Ohlins shock today. Overall it does look brand new, there isn't a mark on it. However on closer inspection I have noticed the bottom rebound screw has been rounded off. Does anyone please know of a dealer/specialist that could replace/repair the rebound screw, cheers.
