ST3 buying

There is a 2008 ST3 for sale just up the road from me at Reading (no one here by chance?) that Id like to go see. Any advice on the bike as its one of the last ST3's out there. I think its all standard with panniers as well, and only showing 1600 miles.
I seem to remember a Ducati re-call on early 3's because off one of the valve springs, but dont know if this bike would have been effected by that or any other recalls out there.
I asume Ducati preety much nailed it on this bike and there should be no known problems?

Cheers

If it has a performance exhaust check for back firing when rolling off the throttle.
Leaking fuel tank in the weld underneath. Mine is an 06 st3s previously i had a st4 both had the same problem.
Check the ride height adjuster adjusts ok these sieze and they are a tw@t to free!
Great bikes love 'em' under estimated to say the least.

2008 ?
I'd be asking which model year it actually is, as they weren't made in 08. I think 06 was the last model year.

If its done that few miles it should have no problems at all.
Sounds like a great buy :)

How many variations were there?

ST3
ST3 S
ST3 S ABS

Is this right? What was the difference between the S and non S models ?

Cheers

Mine is a standard ST3. Its a cracking bike.
I thought there was only the ST3 or ST3ABS, which has the Ohlins suspension with remote preload adjustment at the back, fully adjustable at the front, but with ABS which I'm not keen on.
I'd like the adjustable rear preload for mine. its a right pain trying to adjust the standard one. I tend to leave it set for two up which is too firm then for me when I'm out solo.

PBPB,
the st3s had the ohlins when it came out, but not abs as far as I am aware.
I test rode a 3s in 2004 and it definitely didn't have abs then.

It seems that when they droped the 4s and 4s abs from the range (in 2007?)the 3s gained abs.

The ST4s and ST4s ABS were discontinued from 2005 and the ST3s / ST3s ABS from 2007.
