can\'t get neutral

just recently filled new clutch plates then went off to the nurburgring but i soon discovered that neutral was difficult to find and sometimes the light comes on and sometimes not then ocasionally it seems to flicker when in gear and riding. the plates are all in the right place - at least according to the haynes manual , anyone got any suggestions of what could be wrong. Oh and the other thing is that there was not a 'line up' mark that i could find on the metal plate held by the springs and bolts, haynes says there should be one - does it make a difference ? full posting on the ring will follow but in short it was brilliant !

Blimey!!!!

....Weeksy's getting technical!!!!:D;):D;):D;)

Two seperate issues there,i think.
1.if the light is flickering,as weeksy said check the wires to the switch-just next to the rear exhaust pipe so you can burn your hand!
2.If it's difficult to get neutral i would bleed it first and then take it from there.

I'm getting a new oil pressure switch on friday (if it arrives) so i'll have a go at the weekend and let you know

thanks

Jasper 02-Oct-2003 09:11

I'm not sure!!??Maybe it's difficult to get into neutral 'cos there's no oil in the gearbox?:D

iainzx 02-Oct-2003 21:18

your a funny bunch - the switch destroyed itself a couple of weeks back at the nurbergring and spewed oil everywhere,( i was held responsible for the ensuing crashes but i just said hay its italian - they spit the dummy out every now and again) fortunatley there was a support van and we got it out snapped off the remaining bits, tapped a new thread and slammed in a bolt - job done
