Mmm, Magnetti Marelli...

Mmm, carbon...

Just wish I could get this little lot fitted up to a road bike.

tom.i 09-Feb-2011 09:32

Ahhh but you CAN!
Competition Systems sell neat little machined aluminium add-on for £48 that lets you mount all your dash lights from the road bike front loom - indicator, fuel warning, hi-beam etc.
If you need a tidy ready made loom for this they also do one that is totally plug and play for £115.

smilo006 09-Feb-2011 20:00

agghhghghghaha how could you put that on. Just look at it.

Gobert23 09-Feb-2011 21:43

Yeah, it's the wrong era for my '95 period build...

If you happen to come across earlier race parts...

Yep not quites as flashy back then

As Tom says MM Competition systems will sell you the billet idiot light housing, I popped down there one lunch break to get one for mine, when I put the 998R on the road.
And I know this will be a shock to some :o
In the up coming edition of Pronto #44 (Whats that he said, an edition of Pronto) there is a article about setting up the Speedo reading on the MT940 dash

Not entirely sure where's best to begin, if I'm being honest

My Strada's a road bike and will, most likely, stay a road bike, but that'll not stop me from trying to upgrade (rather than simply modify) with genuine performance parts along the way.

Carbon and magnesium parts are always the desirable items, yes?

I suppose a magnesium swing-arm, that'd accept a standard axle and wheel would be the ultimate, but is well beyond any budget that I could consider.

I've been unlucky trying to find a magnesium top-yoke, that's be compatible with my 'road' specification forks/offset.

Proper period 'Corse' rearsets would be nice, along with the correct heel plates.

A 'Corse' dash (I've now found pictures of Foggy and Corser bikes, that have an ol' analogue setup). Not sure how I could set that up for road use (I'd need to sneak a speedo and some idiot lights in somewhere)

I've been on the hunt for the parts that allows for the 'race' style seat mounting. I've got a spare single seat unit, but don't have the carbon bracket for the top of the sub-frame.

Oh! Nearly forgot the part that I've been wanting the most! A carbon fibre airbox, but the type that has the removable side panels (as was seen on the race bikes).

Carbon fibre velocity stacks/bellmouths are also on the wish list...

That's just the things that spring to mind, before I think about another shock, brakes, etc etc...

I have a carbon fibre airbox with the removable side panels,if i am right in thinking the that eara of foggy bike had a standard size airbox?,thats what mine is,and fits straight on a roadbike.

And i'm now selling it as i have a larger airbox to fit.
