more laws to restrict civil liberties under the current regime than in teh last 100 yrs of parliament, says it all really! In fact, we are folliwng Germany in the mid-20's at the mo...and we know where that ended! I have loads of evidence where it doesn't work and why its should be taken back a peg or two...but lets NOT hijack the thread, eh ;)

think its terrible that ins co's are treating you like this, maybe try a specialst broker?? te kind of peolpoe who find ins for those woth DD convictions, awful you are now being put in a similar bracket!!

[quote=andyb].......Of all the databases available to police, the Insurance one is THE most proficient and up to date!!!!! and most widely used!!!!!!!

I can assure you if a vehicle is checked and found to be uninsured its removed from the road at the cost of £120 to the owner/driver, they are then charged £14 a day for the storage for 14 days when it then becomes a fridge. The driver is on the spot fined £200 and 6 points..........let alone anything else that can be fined for......

big deal !

I know the police dont make the laws but they are the interface that we (the tax payer) have to deal with and it is the police that decide what offences to target.

I pay for my tax, insurance, MOT and it grates when we see the paltry fines dished out by the courts to those that dont bother. Whats even worse is when you see the scrotes just going to the pub to get another vehicle.

Anyway, theres nothing I can do except hope that KB and other innocent victims get their insurance sorted and the scrotes who cause the carnage and loss get their cumuppance.

The officer on patrol is the tool that is used by those higher up the food chain, we need to apply pressure to the decision makers.

ANDYB

methinks you work in a perfect policing state, have a trip up to Teeside, Geordieland or some parts of Yorkshire mate, might change your opinion on yer buddies in blue.

We all know that you work under testing conditions and are driven from above, but please take the blue tinted specs off ;-)

Can you apply the need to change the narrow minded views, sensationalisms and generalisations to everyone then?......

Get a grip, dry your eyes and knuckle down to do the best you can at your level.....the same as most of us.

I've seen sights and experienced things in conflict that would turn the stomach of many a mortal sole, I don't get upset at every dig or comment against Bliars war, nor do i feel the need to correct every person on their misguided and ill advised views.

I do take solace in the fact that I and my team do the best that we can when we are called upon. I also know that my morals are sound and without question. I sleep well at night, I do not worry how I am percieved.

However.......my insurance (through Ducati Ins) has risen from £187 to £450 per year with just a small change in vehicle.
No convictions (in 23 years) no claims (in 23 years)
Apparently I now need a Thatcham approved Cat1 Immobiliser to help drain my battery :-/

So just to clarify you want me to give and change ......but not anyone else?

thats the beauty of website mate, people express opinions.......and generally theres a contradictory opinion....thats how these things work, even here!

Do i look worried........? thanks for your advise you obviously know me well....

However my insurance has gone down...yours has trebled??:o You wanna move down here where nothing happens..

This thread has got out of hand, interesting reading though.

Point one, I totally agree with, Insurance Co's are scum bags. Always on the take. Unregulated swindlers, and it's legal.

Point two, the little scotes that cause these issues should be treated more ruthlessly by our pathetic juducial system. Or remove them of their liberty..... permanantly!

My sympathy's, hope you get sorted.
