SPS Seat Woes.

Much as I love my 748 SPS, I cannot get used to sliding forward and ramming my tackle into the tank everytime I brake even slightly. :(

Any suggestions on how to prevent this?

I was considering a tecnosel seat but, when I eventually managed to find a dealer who could obtain one for a single seater, I was quoted £150! :o

Cheers,

Moley :rodent:

you want a set of the pads from California Superbike school. Highly recommended. Fit on the sides of the tank and give you something to grip to with your legs.

You really shouldn't be using your arms nearly as much as your thighs.

Stompgrip traction pads.

doogalman 22-Jan-2006 14:19

just get your seat recovered in alcantara

KJ Performance had a blue technosel seat pad for £60 (I think) a few months back - might still be there.

Under heavy braking squeeze your knees together.

Sorry mate, i dunno. Ring CSS and tell them the DSC sent you :)

Mr_S 23-Jan-2006 09:01

29.99 for the pair.

Well worth it. You don't need to exert much effort at all to stay in the right position with them fitted. I put them on both my road and track tanks.

I had this prob on my 748s to when i had it, and used to squeeze tank more with knees to stop the usual nut crushing:lol::lol:

Trouble is this meant i pushed tank forwards then so much so the steering damper wore a groove in paint on tank:(

Was reaplaced under warranty and was basically told the little hook at front of tank bends easily and the best way to deal with it was to brace your arms and it stopped after:P

Guys/Gals,

Many thanks for all your advice. I decided to buy a technosel Seat (rather than going to the vets) so hopefully I can now concentrate on the ride......

If that doesn't do it, tank pads are the next option, although I think they may detract from my bikes gorgeous lines. .

After an initial cock-up (no pun intended) I find I now have a brand new bi-posto seat covered in black suede if anyones interested. Bought from e-Busters, only want £40 plus postage. This is nearly half their price. U2U if interested.

Thanks again for the suggestions.
