(anyone know what that casting is behind the brake pedal..?)

Looks like some kind of strengthening item. It uses the lower mounting holes in the engine (which are used for the rear brake m/c on later bikes and the 916 line) and then goes up to the swingarm mount point - maybe it's in an effort to reduce flex in the swingarm pivot? Doesn't look like it's adjustable at all...

Got me looking at pics of my SP4 also noticed rear caliper position which is correct ??

Hi DaveB916

Here's a pic. of mine. It's largely as it left the factory. SP4 had its rear caliper above the swinging-arm originally. (SP5 was below though).

(Yours has additional alloy bracketry just ahead of the brake pedal too. What is it?)

If it was on an SS - I'd think that gold plate was for mounting the torque arm on and positioning the caliper on the underside of the disc....

DB4 and Saturno look nice as well :(

On closer inspection I think you're right Frank. (The SP5 item is much less obvious than these ones though).

They're all over the place. Another one on eBay, too.

Rumored to be a really nice one appearing at a UK dealer in the not too distant.....

Has anyone ever dealt with Mdina Italia? They have some nice looking bikes on their web page. Not too far away either.
