STEERING DAMPER ON A 2000 900SS I HAVE A VERY JUMPY FRONT END ON MY BIKE ESPECIALLY OVER BUMPY COUNTRY ROADS. ANY IDEAS ON A DAMPER |
I fitted an adjustable Hyperpro damper when I had my 99 model ss, try Pro Twins. It fits between the left hand side of the frame to the left hand fork leg if my memory serves me well. nice piece of kit and worked very well. |
I'd check your suspension set up first; your bike should be one of the most stable on the road though Showas tend to be a bit harsh stock. Might be worth spending £100 with K-Tech or similar to set them up rather than on a damper. |
Hyper-pro on my '98 Andy:smug: |
toms - does the bike still have the original spring on the rear shock? this is generally (much) to hard for most people. I replaced my spring with a new one from Maxton to suit my weight and how I use the bike. This together with a few front and rear setting changes transformed the bike and I've never felt the need for a steering damper again, even on trackdays.:) |
Heres what I did to my older 900ss: http://217.199.188.40/xmb/viewthread...=8660#pid70157 Good luck - Frank |
