not according to DPP parts book, its 04 or earlier model 999 specific

Twinfan 12-Jul-2005 15:11

That's because of the new swingarm on the '05s. The front pipe won't clear it. I'd also guess the ECU won't be suitable either, but you could use a PCIII instead.

Swingarm is the big issue...

Gizmo 12-Jul-2005 15:21

is wheel clearance under the can also an issue?? if not you could get can and buy 05 link pipes individually

...and I think I'm right in saying that all 999's are now the deep sump engine (?) so the front pipe in that system will not only hit the swing arm , it will also hit the sump.

As stated above , the ECU will probably be be no good , you could run with a PC or just use the standard ECU.

If you can buy it cheap enough it may be worth it for the silencer / carbon cover and air fillters , a front pipe to suit the deep sump and fabricated swing arm is around £150 inc VAT which is all you would really need to make it fit.

Yep - the link pipe and ECU are the problem. The box, cover, filters etc will all fit OK. TO make it worthwhile:

PCIII - around £300
Setup - around £100
Link pipe - around £150

That's £450. An assymetric Termi set is around £1000, so you'd want to get the one on eBay for around £350ish to make it worth while for you. Can't see that happening to be honest.

It'll go to someone with an '03 or '04 year 999 for around £700 or so. They can just bolt it straight on and use the ECU too :bouncy:

..No that I need more HP or speed, but of course, I like the idea and the noise of a Termi set. ..Anyone around that has already fitted a 05 999 BIP with a termi system? is it a bolt off/on modification (with the ECU also) or the rear frame needs to be adjusted?
Pricing and a dealer that knows what is doing? - no e-bay for me...
Thanks guys

I heard that Termi's to fit the '05 bikes are in short supply.Thankfully one comes in the box with the 'S'.:D:D:D

So guys, can I confirm that you're saying the Termi can isn't what makes the asymetric kits model specific,it's actually the ecu+front pipe? If that's the case (and it does seem to make sense),then a 749/999 series can should fit anything from a 749 bip to a 999R on the assumption that the pipe (and ecu) are changed.......
