ECU Information

Can anyone tell me I own a 1995 916 Biposta, Does the 996 Biposta use the same ECU?

If your 916BP has a 1.6M ECU - yes it should be the same but the chip is different.
I think only original 94 916 Strada had the P8 ECU (apart from the SP/SPS models).

Not the same.

ECU Models

Weber-Marelli IAW P7 ECU

P7s have no rear cylinder offset map.

Weber-Marelli IAW P8 ECU
Later 888's from serial number 000509, 916 Strada, 916SP, 916SPS, 996SPS

Note: The P7 and P8 ECUs turn-on the fuel pump once they initialize via a relay.

Weber-Marelli IAW 1.6M B1 ECU

Hi everyone just to let you know the outcome of my 916 having been broken down for the past 2 months my local garage finally sourced a second ECU and guess what it still tripped the fuel relay after 10 seconds prompting an unplug to re-start. So that confirmed ECU was ok but we replaced the chip and bongo all is well it would appear in the last minutes of its life the rectifier decided to fry my eprom to bits. Now the question is do I leave the standard eprom in while running 45mm Termigonis or source a replacement? dealers says won't make much difference apart from maybe being lumpy at low speeds. What do you think? Also where is the best place to get one?

Sorry if this sounds daft but , would the above be the same for all 748's including the R ?
