Tyres

:puzzled:

So, what's it going to be- Pirelli Diabolos or Bridgestone BT010s?

What are the new BT014s like?

Just put a new Diablo on my 900SL this evening. I used one on my DD race bike at Snetterton in February, with snow on the ground, and held a steady 95mph around Corum at an absurd lean angle. When I got off the bike 30 secs later the tyre was stone cold but hadn't budged a mm at any time. I can't ask for more grip than that.

I'm sure BT014s are fantastic tyres as well, but I haven't tried them back to back so I can't give you a proper comparison.

Enjoy, whichever you choose! :D

There's a brand new set of HiSports on ebay for £99.99- do you think they would be worth a try, or are they obsolete?

ali 01-Apr-2005 10:35

Not sure, as the last time I heard of anyone using Hi-sports the Thompson Twins were in the top 10

£99 is cheap, but Ducatis are bloody expensive so I'll be sticking with new rubber....

Mine wasn't, I paid £2650 for it!

:D

Good point, though- I'll probably go for something a wee bit newer.

014's are fantastically grippy, only got just over 2k out of my last rear tho' so I've just got an 010 for comparison. Try Steve at Wraysbury tyres, Chertsey, or Mike Davis at Robsom racing for prices, both give good discount to DSC members.

BT014s or Diabolos?

The ebay price is about the same...

What about D207s? Are they any good?

Hi

From what all the guys with the 4v Dukes rekon I'd go for the Diablo's. They very, very popular althou my R1 did have 012 on and was very good.

I think the Pirellis are favourite at the mo'. Sounds like they'll quicken the steering a bit, too.

Tx!

Could be handy, as I live in Staines when I'm working down at LHR!

Cheers
