Can a Bip seat be easily fitted to a 749R/999R? I managed to fit a Bip seat to my old 996R, but can this be easily achieved on a 749R or 999R. Don't ask me why I want to do it as I take offence easily ;) - but is it a matter of just switching the subframe and seat unit (obviously)? Or are there other considerations for this? movement of components etc, etc..... Anyone done this? Ta muchly Tim |
:puzzled: |
I think so Tim. But there might be an issue with the baby R. Its fuel tank is larger and I'm not certain if this presents a problem or not. |
Subframe and all seatbase bits should swap over ok but remember "R" wheels would not be homologated for biposto use being lighter forged alloy |
Arn't the forged lighter wheels stronger than cast wheels? |

Probably but look at how thin the spokes are and they list those wheels in the performance catalogue as mono use only:rolleye: |

Yeh I know - I did say don't ask me why!!! But in the spirit of openess - I need a road bike that I can occasionally take Mrs Rattler out for a spin on. She won't like it and I can quickly change it back, but I need the capability nonetheless! And it would be a trifle churlish just to keep the ZX10R for such activities. So as I endeavour to procure a new Ducati I need to be cognisant of such!!! ;) Tim:frog: |
