Kill switch again I've just had another look at my kill switch and if the kill switch is in off position before the main power switch is turned on the bike won't start which is telling me the kill switch is still connected but once the engine is running the kill switch will not kill the engine. Anyone have any ideas as to what could be wrong? Any suggestions will be appreciated Shane |
Are you still using the key and barrel or a switch? |

So the bike will only stop when the ignition switch is off. Lecy aint my strong point but it may be possible that the ignition relay when energised is staying latched in even when the kill switch is turned off. Change the yellow relay for a start. |
Yep bike will only stop when ignition is switched off. I will try the relay I'm just gonna have to do a process of elimination I think. |

Good plan ;) |
The Kill switch shouldn't have anything to do with the Ignition Relay. Normally it is wired so that one side of the kill switch is wired to +12v from the fuse box and then when in the ON position it puts that 12 volts feed onto the Coils and Ignition modules, so when its in the OFF position there is no voltage to the coils or ignition modules hence stopping the bike running. |
If I switch the ignition on without starting the bike up I can hear the fuel pump turning on and off when I flick the kill switch on and off. But if I start the bike up the kill switch has no affect. |
That's odd as the same 12 volts that goes from the fuse to the kill switch also goes to the fuel pump and therefore the fuel pump should only be controlled by the Ignition Switch and not the Kill switch Sounds like the ignition On feed is going to the Coils and ignition Modules and the Kill switch ON feed is going to the fuel pump So they are the wrong way round |

Yeah is strange even when it's running I can hear the kill switch cutting off the fuel pump but the bike keeps running. I think I will just take it to someone who knows what their doing whith electrics Thanks anyway for the suggestions |
