Simple pilot powers transformed my old 999 and 900ss so whilst an old tyre now I do think I'm going to chuck them on my new 749, something in the profile just seems to work (for me)

Made a good choice as they work as expected on the 749

No one has mentioned suspension changes when they change tyres ... they just write the tyres off as rubbish ..... there really aren't many bad tyres out there for sportsbikes.

Most Michelins are 'softwalled' and work best with a hard suspension setup that makes the tyre move around/heat up, but Dunlops tend to be the other way round, with a harder carcass which need a softer suspension setup to get the same tyre movement/heat ...... check out the weight differences of the two!

It's all a matter of balancing the tyre and the suspension to let the tyre do it's job ... but you'll never get a touring tyre designed for longevity to work properly on track, or a fast road tyre to work on a wet, cold, B-road commute ......

Agree - I back off my suspension a bit for the Dunlop SportSmarts after the Pirelli diabl Supercorsa's.....
