Just saying Hi Afternoon folks. Thought I'd join and start the ball rolling for a dabble in the DD class next year. I know a few of you guys from the Hottrax paddock as I'm racing in the Michelin Power cup this season after doing a couple of years in the endurance. I'm getting the idea that a DD would be a great way to get some more track time as well as the Power cup, so I'm on the look out for a bike. Also the Mrs, who is usually pit crew has decided that she should have a go at this racing lark too, rather than just putting tyre warmers on the R6. So, at least one Class B bike, possibly 2 needed, not to mention a cuppa at Donington while I bother you with a hundred questions. Cheers. |
You may not be able to do the class B, you might have to start off on the A. I found this out after I basically did the same move. Check the regs. |
Welcome, As simon says if you have raced before and not novice its an A class you need I have a good A class for sale at good money in the DD bikes for sale. Cold even deliver to donnington ;) http://www.ducatisportingclub.com/sh...d.php?t=125382 |

So the Mrs is ok as a total newbie in her rookie bib, but I have to go A class ? Jeez, confused already, looks like a night in front of the regs ! |

Yes that is the rules, look forward to meeting you. |
Class B aimed at those that are New to racing or haven't raced in any other road race class, although there is the exception of those returning to racing after some time out and have been given a Novice Licence by the ACU Class A, is basically for anyone that wants to race with us. we would even Let Rossi in if he feels the need to get pack on the top step of a podium :) |

He'd have to go some to beat Challis |

Another question then guys, if you can help. (Donington's still a long way off !) I'm looking for a couple of bikes from what you've said, but obviously funds aren't going to go that far at this stage of the racing season. Is it possible to enter a B class bike in the A class ? The rationale is that I want to get a B class for her indoors to learn her trade on, but would look to race it myself until she's ready to have a go. I'm comparing it to the endurace series, where you can enter the 1000 class on a 600, is it as simple as that ? Apologies if this is the dumbest question you've ever heard ! |
Cant see why you cant, just means you will be down on power etc. but be careful of any mods eg adding adjustable forks as then it wont go into B class. Just need to have a white number board and chnage to yellow when back in B Tbh starting in A or B as a first class isnt an issue, only that B bike are usually cheaper to buy being older etc so nothing stopping the missus racing an A bike, not like jumping off 100 hp to 180 |
My Class B bike will be up for sale at the end of the season |
