T/Day kit... anyone heard of these? |
Nope, but looking at his other auctions, he runs some GRP bodywork business. He's also doing 996 stuff, looks alright, the only problem may be the fit, but which ones aren't? Isn't Barry doing 999 stuff yet? |
I asked barry this ages ago, and no, not yet, basically he needs to get hold of a kit to take a mould, be it a road or trackday/race kit, and can then modify etc for it. I suggested he either buy a road kit, or a decent t/day kit, take a mould, and sell the kit he bought, so not out of pocket, but no joy. To be fair, I think he's doing quite a few CBR600RR kits and GSXR1000 etc also, so I guess no real rush/urgency to get one done. As you rightly say though Tim, a kit is only as good as the fit, might look alright in the photo's, but be a real pig to get on the bike. At least with Barry he seems pretty meticulous at getting it right. [Edited on 24-9-2004 by jpmercer] |
I saw the 996 stuff on ebay a few days ago. Might be tempted for £150. And almost cheap enough the hack about with it if it doesnt fit quite exactly. |
ive just got my set, they ok.ok for the track.just needs spraying up.the fits a bit off but for £150 it ok |
The stuff shown in the picture will not fit your R , the top fairing on the R is wider than the standard stuff as I explained in your "what do I need to know" post. Bill (749R) got a set that does fit the wider top mount , there's a post somewhere about it. |
