Raising Handlebars on 750 SS ie
 

Hi Guys,
Does anyone know where I can get either adjustable clip on raisers or a handlebar conversion kit for my 2000 750 Supersport i.e? I love the bike but after a few miles, I really suffer with aching wrists and have trouble operating the clutch. I have fitted a larger clutch slave cylinder from Tecmoto which has helped but I am after any suggestions. Have demo'd a Multistrada which has a better riding position for me but do not want to change the bike. Thanks, Greg

do u ride covering the brake and clutch levers ? if so u might find moving the levers helps with the wrist problem
if not u can buy bar risers im sure
also why do people have problems with the weight of the clutch i find mines fine just using 2 fingers

They have several brands/types listed in their paper catalogue starting at £184.

The usual robbers (M&P etc) do quite a big range of risers, worth a call.

thanks for the suggestions. I am off today so will go for a ride & try adjusting the levers to see if it helps. Have also ordered a catalogue from M & P.

Search for 'Helibars' either on the 'net or the old board - I remember putting a link in thre ages ago.

I'm looking at another route as the Helibars are about £220 !!!!

Busters accessories sell bar riser clamps in various sizes (inc 50mm) that raise the bars some 50mm as well - I figure I have enough fork sticking through to mount the clamp ABOVE the top yoke and then cut my own clip-ons down from a length of handle bar.

Also check out Harris - they do some cool clip-ons also E-bay and VORTEX clip-ons in the USA.

Have you tried moving the clip-ons?
 

Either closer to you or further away (as you're sitting on the bike) depending on your wrist-angle! I've moved mine further away and the difference is remarkable.
Can even do a reasonable slalom through thc cones!

when u make any adjustments check nothing fouls on the fairing from lock to lock before riding off
not trying to tell your granny how to suck eggs just to be safe

Thanks for all the suggestions, having gone for a long rideout after having adjsted the brake & clutch levers down quite a lot it has made a big difference. Even if I get a slight pain in the wrist, with the levers in this position they are a still lot easier to use. As a result, I don't think I will invest in raised clip ons for the moment. The big test will be when I ride up from devon for World Superbikes at Brands Hatch in July!

As another short term stop-gap you could always try putting some foam grips on as well....made a noticable difference on my dumper truck :sing:
