Hi mate, mines a Southern Comfort & Coke please.

You should be able to get some info' about engine specs by clicking here.

Have a look in the 999 technical section for set up advice etc.

Do we have a new DSC member then ?

It depends also if a 2005 models or not... which year?

welcome, just an espresso as I am still at work...

it's an 03. i've seen reports that say it has different cams, a deep sump sand cast crank cases and titanium rods. is this correct?

JPM 08-Dec-2005 16:29

It won't have Ti rods, should have a deep sump though, and probably different cams to suit, Caramel Machiatto please :)

Check this link for the differences from the 03 999 and 03 999S. Still the same address passed by Steve, just refined for the 03.

As I am still a track rookie, can not really help on setting the bike, but my two cents suggestion is to go in the track as it is and work your way forward in the setting of the bike after you understand how the bike beahave std. setting...

I've got a 03 999S and as far as I have found out, the 02 to 04 999 and 999S are as 127bhp for the 999 and 139bhp for the 999S,their good for the money, I had the choice, it's a better looking bike than the 05,I think,and has the same power as a 999,05 but has the ohlins,
I have tried a couple of 03 999 and find them to have a very different power curve,the 999S will keep making more power all the way up to the red line,if it had one, in fact I find it better to change up a little,just to allow for the time it takes me to change gear,
ps you can find different power figuers,but I have seen these in print and it feels about right,
hope this helps:flame::burn::burn:
