It also depends on the type of noise testing they do - static or dynamic. With a static test you normally all line up and get called one at a time to run your bike at a certain revs and the noise is measured at a certain distance from the exhaust exit. With a dynamic test, there are usually one or more test points situated around the track where they can measure the noise from the bike as it passes. Your cans will also degrade over time as the wadding inside breaks down due to the heat and exhaust gasses, so they will get louder. Ultimately, if you think your bike is one the loud side, try to stick to "noisy" 105dB days, or take a set of dB Killers with you as a backup plan so you don't waste your time and money! |
