OK, 778 chances of actually winning a spanking new 999

But a ticket costs....£32

778 x 32 = £24896 :o:o:o:o:o:o

Thats a VERY exclusive 999 - has the V4 arrived early ????

So, next - how much does a 999 really cost ?????

Strangely, I quickly got tired of looking at factory dealers that didnt advertise list prices - standard I guess.

Shirlaws came up on a net search (with 0% finance I might add) at £11250.

Shirlaws 0% deal (http://www.shirlaws.com/index.cfm?id=33264&fuseaction=browse&pageid=86)

Erm...so .... 24896 minus 11250 = £13646 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is a STAGGERING amount of profit to make even at rrp!

Still - only 260 tickets are left as of the 29/11/04 - so I guess an awful lot (518) really, really want a 999.

Good luck.

I reckon this type of site should be called theresasuckerborneveryminuteandwewantthemascustome rs.com

They promote this lottery with the words "The odds of actually winning are considerably better". Well, better than winning the national lottery perhaps but my simple arithmatic makes the odds 778 - 1.

I think I'll put my £32 on a 100 - 1 rank outsider at Chepstow, because that's significantly better odds.

we should do this ourselves as a club every year. cant be many organisations better placed to get to ducati enthusiasts. go for lower profit and split it 50/50 club funds and charity

11,500 bike
300 tickets at 50 quid each
3.5 k profit

Or 600 at 25 quid - you could always buy 2

That's an easy one to get around...

You just sell entry forms to turn it into a competition with dumb questions such as

Who is Ducati's latest MotoGP signing

A) Chucky Cheese
B) Carlos Checa
C) Chubby Checker

All the correct entries go into a draw for the winner. It's still a lottery in all but name, that's how Richard and Judy do it anyway

sheesh, when did Chubby Checker sign for Ducati ?

I'm glad the gist of my thread made it in the end

Someone in the DSC could get a VERY nice Xmas present - M620 anyone for starters ??? AND the club kitty could gain too !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
