Hi DSC Peeps,

Are any club members or board members planning on going to the Byrne-Up triple track-day at Nogaro, near Bordeaux in France at the beginning of May?

I will be there for the Monday and Tuesday, and it would be nice to put some faces to the names.

If anyone is interested in going (and it is a seriously good track), I can provide you with contact details.

I went to Val de Vienne with Byrne-up last year and was looking to do the same again this year (July). I didn't realise that Nogaro was a French track. My parents live about an hour east of Bordeaux.

Looking at the map, Bordeaux looks to be 300km from Nogaro, would Toulouse be a quicker journey? Have you done this Bordeaux to Nogaro trip. Last year I got Byrne-up to take my bike and I flew out and got a hire car. No way i'm riding down there :D

I'm definately going to do another french track day again with Byrne-up just got to choose which one.

Hi Ziggi,

I'll have to get the map out tonight, but I think Nogaro is closer to Bordeaux than 300km.

Then again, I've been known to get lost playing squash and putting on jumpers.

I'm a long time Val de Vienne fan - been there about a dozen times over the past 5 years with Byrne-Up, and love it.

I'll be back at Val de V on July17th/18th, again with B-U.

I haven't been to Nogaro yet but I am told that it could have been designed by the same guy that drew up Val de V, but with the addition of a mega straight (got to give the I4s a chance).

I've also ticked off Folembray, Pau Arnos, Croix-en-Ternois and Magny Cours over the years - going back to Croix and to Magny in August (B-U again).

I know riding down to the French tracks seems like a chore, but B-U do an excellent guided ride to the tracks, which is almost as good as a track day itself.

Let me know which trip you decide on, and we'll keep in touch.

Did you go last year to B-U Val de Vienne - I was there.

Pau looks easy to fly to (airport near by) - in fact Pau is only 40 mins from Nogaro apparently.

I'll let you know what I decide. Cheers.

I was at Val last year in July August - it was a good trip, but I had only just installed my slippy clutch and had set it up poorly so I had a few probs - well that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

Pau is great fun - possibly my favourite track, even though it is quite small. The gradients are what makes it.

B-U may not be going to Pau this year, as the numbers were down in 2004. Too many people only want to go to big name circuits like Magny and Catalunya. I am lobbying Heather at B-U to set-up another trip to Pau, and as Simon (the Byrne in Byrne-Up) loves the place, it may yet happen.

In the mean time, if you hear of any other organisation going to Pau, please let me know.

Anyway, happy planning.
