Just for once hes not having a go, to sumarise he is moaning that setting up an aircraft to moniter bikes speeding on the cat and fiddle run is a waste and suggests letting us enjoy our riding in the country away from schools etc.

Yep the plane is overkill, however I live on the cat & fiddle, and the high profile and heavy handed policing done over the last two years has worked. In the last two years there has been one fatality, which is still one too many but a huge reduction on the past. If you saw with your own eyes the way people ride on the road you'd be all for the policing. Did you see the program on the BBC a month or so ago when the bloke overtook on solid whites with a police car behind him?? I'm not saying what he did was the crime of the century, but that is the standard of riding on the road, people will overtake at any opportunity to keep up with their mates, not checking there mirrors etc and if you happen to be coming the other way and get taken out it's gonna hurt.
