Is a (performance)chip required when fitting 45mm termis,no other mods. The instructions with the cans say fit a chip, but read a few threads where problems have occured after doing so,stalling etc.Any advice appreciated.

Which bike is it for ? I've got 45mm termis on my 748 and was told there was no need to chip, although fitting one would improve the fueling a bit.

Let me put it this way: it won't run any worse without a performance chip.

A 748
Power commander made biggest difference to my 996S after being Termi'd
In reverse order of (personal) preference
No Chip - £0.00
DP or Similar pre-programmed chip £30 upwards
Power Commander £350ish plus setup (no independant maps for front / rear cylinders)
FIM Ultimap Chip £150ish plus setup
Some ECU's (5.9M 2001 onwards) don't allow you to change the chip for a FIM one, so your stuck with a power commander.
FIM's are massively configurable (more so than the PC) but can also be simply dropped in place, you just don't get the full benfit of it that way.
Eric,
I have an FIM Chip (UM091) for sale - suitable for 748 BP.
