I’m putting a single seat on my Bip 916 and using the parts from the twin seat, I think I will need to buy new:
Plate 827.2.004.1A which is the plate that the striker bolts onto, it looks flatter than the BIP one?
Spacers x 2 for the above bracket,
Bolts x 2 for the above spacers,
Anything else?
They're the bits I bought for mine.
Although I ended up buying a full set of everything in the end so it was an easier swap.

How much did all that cost in the end?
About £40, though I did get the light unit off e-bay for peanuts.
Most expensive new bit was the lock plate with the spigot on it, which was around £10.00
I think it's about £30 plus the light.

They've just charged me £30 for the plate that the latch plate bolts onto, and £5 for the spacers. Mr S did you have to cut the spacers down? The bolts are 60p each though.
Didn't have to touch the spacers, just put them on.
£30's a bit rich for a flat piece of steel with some holes in (I got a bargain then!)
60p for a bolt! Get a pair from somewhere else!!!

To late now but where did you get your bits from? Mind you I did need them instantly as I'm MOT'ing the bike on Friday morning.
hello walenut.
did you get the parts fitted yet ?
i just ordered and fitted the same parts . but my seat sits miles in the air.
to me it looks like its needing dropped by an inch at least.
if possible can you post or email a picture
thnx

Yes mate I'll do it tomorrow, I did note on the packet that it was a specific bracket designed for converting a Bip into a Mono, and the bracket wasn’t flat.
ive tried everything using the bracket, sits way too high.
ive removed bracket completly and screwed tail light and seat lock locater (using 2 spacers on seat lock ) and screwed them both directly onto seat unit.
it now sits perfectly.
parts used ( spacers & bolts ) £ 10.00
i didnt use the bracket .. £32.50 down the drain :)

FWIW I found that the spacers had to be cut down about 4 - 5mm or the seat sits way too high above the exhausts ..... it is easy to do them as they are made from italian cheese ....

I thought only the Japanese made there fasteners out of cheese.

The sticker on the bag said 82711201A Piastra 916B98 996M/01 748B/02 Plate. If you want to see how the seat unit looks on the bike I’m going to post some pictures of my finished bike in the my photos section.

No, the Japanese do not have a monopoly on the cheese fasteners ... but teh italian ones are a nice goldy colour ....
Richer blend of cream, I think ....
