oh yes, something else to spend my money on, only been collecting these for about two weeks and already have 12, with 5 on order. Pity the Reynolds is damaged, bet the Hislop will go for serious money.

The signed INS Hodgson is at £255 :o

adam

Twinfan

Looks like eBay removed the Hodgson auction. Could have been a scam? It was on there when I last posted.

The signed Hizzy is up to £180...

mmmm......if you follow the link to the sellers website (www.thesignaturecompany.com) & try to buy one of their products, you get redirected to Grand Prix Legend's website. Is it just me or is that in really bad taste?

Legitimate way to make money I guess. It explains why that guys stuff on eBay is so expensive though!

deej
17-Apr-2005, 02:02
mmm so have i

yes its in bad taste and i hate grand prix legends so lets do what we can to wind them up

thats a really good price for a hodgson rep and a hizzie rep, over the top actually

adam
17-Apr-2005, 20:29
deej you have said that you have seen hislop bikes go for over £200, this one is signed so worth extra, as we know, no more signatures.

deej
17-Apr-2005, 22:21
yeah but i canta fford it so its over the top in my eyes but to those with the cash lyoing around, go and buy :D:D:D

as ive said before its all down to who's bidding at the time, but im really annoyed with the signature shop being gplegends, why buy it on ebay when its only £80 from them direct from store

Twinfan
17-Apr-2005, 22:57
£216 for the signed Hislop - nice price that :)

deej
18-Apr-2005, 00:36

Nice little earner, eh??

Twinfan
18-Apr-2005, 13:11
Oh yeah - kept a few 'in the back' when Hizzy's helicopter went down by any chance???

adam
18-Apr-2005, 17:05
they just offered me one as i had bid on the other. £200 if i want it.

Twinfan
18-Apr-2005, 17:15
Obviously got a few then  £200 is a fair price for a severely limited bike I guess, but I can't help feeling they're cashing in a bit. I admired Hizzy a lot, so I'm loathe to fund anyone profiting from his death. Just my opinion.

Did GPL ever release a run of signed Hizzy reps? They haven't got 100 of them lying around at £200 a pop have they??????

Desmondo
18-Apr-2005, 17:36
That kind of stinks TBH, not sure I'll be ordering from GPL again.

adam
18-Apr-2005, 18:48
Catch 22 really, if they have them they need to sell them, its a business. It just hurts because Hizzy isnt with us now. With any form of art when the Author, artist ect has passed away their work increases in value, thats the way it is and always will be.

If i hadnt bought so many recently i would have one, as a collector this is quite a special addition. Oh well, sorry to go on so much.

Desmondo
18-Apr-2005, 18:50
So why not sell them as GPL on ebay rather than just a normal username making it look like you've only got one on offer?

Twinfan
18-Apr-2005, 18:52
That's what I'm wondering. It is down as a company, but not GPL. A bit too cunning IMO.

adam
18-Apr-2005, 19:16
yep fair comment. All you can do is stay away.

deej
18-Apr-2005, 20:28
why not just buy form the gpl website and save them the money

or ring them up and ask to speak to jj direct and see waht he has to say

i dont mind paying it to one of you guys but not them

im surprised they got any signed ones as minichamps stopped making them as soon as hizzy died thats why their so rare, his ex wife stopped them making them as she didnt want people cashing in on his death

oops deleted but i still stand by it in my own corner

Fair comment Mr Fish.

Deej - I'd be lying if the same thought hadn't crossed my mind...

adam

I take it the model came out before Hizzy passed on, they could easily have got a bunch signed. it is a good idea to phone them up and get answers.

adam
18-Apr-2005, 21:02
just looking at ebay and there is a Rossi 2004 YZR M1 with the sponsers name Gauloises instead of GO!!!!!!!!!, are these easy to come by? this is only the second one i have seen.

deej
18-Apr-2005, 21:24
nope foreign market only for the gauloises and the marlboro reps due to our ban on smoking advertising, the marlboro rep came out for world ducati week and is very rare

the hislop model came out a week or two before the accident and were all sold immediately as i tried to buy one but had to get it off ebay for a bit extra. i personally dont think they had the time or quantity available to get them signed as mrs hislop put a stop to the model being run

deej
18-Apr-2005, 21:25
it would be interseting to see how many were actually made and how many people on here have 1

twinfan where do yuo get all the model numbers from ???

adam
18-Apr-2005, 21:30
thats another Rossi i have to get. Regarding the Hizzy's I am sure the signatures are true, Very fine line to tread if not. Hanging offence.
I am happy with my non signature one. my wifes favourite out of all mine. Although even she classes them as orniments. Now she is treading a fine line. deej where can i get a catalogue from?

deej
18-Apr-2005, 21:35

twinfan where do you get all the model numbers from ???

www.minichamps.de

Get into the site, hit the Union Jack at the bottom, then select "Products". Once you've found the bike you're interested in, click it and you'll get a bigger picture. The details are then along the bottom of the larger pic. :)

ah

cheers mate

they obvioulsy list all the models available then, does it state whether they are uk only releases or worldwide

another cheap place for minichamps is ebay.com really cheap in canada and they dont understand the importance of them over there

Twinfan
19-Apr-2005, 09:55
The German website I posted is the worldwide site I think, but it doesn't seem to list everything e.g. that black 996 isn't there, or the proper Gauloises Yamaha M1s.

deej.....are you sure about this? I've never seen any tobacco liveried bikes (even from tobacco friendly countries). I've got a WDW '04 desmosedici & it's not the full Marboro livery.

Twinfan

From what I can see, they're decals added afterwards by owners...

adam
19-Apr-2005, 19:16
The Hodgson 2000 signed was sold for £350. i wont pay that for one.

deej
19-Apr-2005, 20:35
ive seen the marlboro reps advertised, think it must have been ebay

and if im right they were only available at wdw, i didnt quite realise the importance of it when i saw it else i would have had it myself, think it was going towards the £100 mark which is why i didnt get it actually

deej
19-Apr-2005, 20:36
its a shame my hodgy's got a broken bar if theyre going for that money
