Well folks, having still not been able to get hold of my local fracture clinic (until this morning) to get a full cast put on my arm, I took the temporary cast off last night coz it was incredibly irritating and actually starting to dig in to my wrist, doing more bad than good.

Anyhoo, this morning (cue drum roll)... I managed to tie my own shoe laces :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

...sad to be so delighted about something so minor, but I was well chuffed

I have a nice yellow bruise on the under side of my arm, and very restricted if I try to move my hand upwards/backwards, but I can make a good fist and have strength in my fingers.

I'm going in to Exeter on Wednesday to the fracture clinic, where they're bound to slap my wrist (ouch!) and fit an industrial strength cast. Doh!

It's only a week since breaking it, so hopefully it will be just about strong enough for CC on the 18th.

Fingers crossed.

You better take it easy champ - you might end up being able to ride a bike but will you be able to brake from straights into a chicane in more than one spot on the CC track under race conditions over two races?

Rest mate, take it easy.

Damn !
I was just going to offer to ride the due so it didnt get left out of the racing :P

Seriously - look after the arm - you DO NOT want it to get worse by doing too much when it 'feels ok' (been there, done that, suffered the consequences)
Be a patient patient until you KNOW its gonna be ok !
