Hi guys,
I'm looking for some SSie standard cans to rent for one day next week. I'm taking part in the track day at Castle Combe and I don't know if baffles can guarantee my bike will be ok, so as I don't want to go there for nothing I'm looking for standard cans to fit on the 620 Sport.
Cheers,
Tonio

got some from my 900SSie which i must sell someday - you are welcome to borrow them if they fit?? What are the noise restrictions at CC? and is your bike that noisy?
105db... which is quite loud :)
u should be fine on your race cans and if u r getting baffles u will be fine..its what i am doing...........
105dba is LOUD

I agree with you Fil, but since I read this

I was talking to my mate Simon Knowlson [...] and as he said they have there own funny way of noise testing there and anything with a race can is likely to fail, which is what I was posting a month or so ago.
So best of luck you have been warned.
I was thinking they would just have a look at my bike and because my cans are not for road use just tell me I can't ride without having tested them...

i dont think that the can has to be road legal just not abopve 105dba which is the Desmo Due noise limit also......plus with a baffle i cant see an issue..........im taking my dd bike with race can and if it fails test i will fit baffle........

Last time i went to castle coombe, you take your bike in there noise hut, where you rev it to 8000rpm and they stick something down your exhaust to see how loud it is...and this was on a standard can..

Do you remember what it measured at?
mw rang Castle Combe today and they said the noise limit for Wednesday was 105 as well. I'd think we'd be ok for that but I'm more curious about the requirement to be up to current MOT standard!
Has anyone taken them up on this? I've been meaning to ring them this week ...
I find that hard to believe, coz how many trackday addicts would have a bike with an MOT?
I would understand it better, if they mean a bike which would pass scrutneering standards, but as most people wouldn't know what that was, they've used MOT as a recognised standard?
Dunno :puzzled:
NFI!
I'll ring them tomorrow. ...

Thanks Ian, is it safe to assume this was an R1 with standard cans? Or an R6?
i cannot beleive they will enforce MOT standard it would be a nightmare to marshall..........a previous poster mentioned he saw many race bikes there without an issue the only issue is noise not wether its a legal can or not etc...........
tony are you gonna ring em and try and get a fianite answer on the noise cans and mot.?
Yeah I'll ring them today.

Yes, I've just spoken to the lady that runs the bike days.
I'll put up a new thread so everyone can see it and it doesn't get lost.
