Some of the carbon on the 'ol SP is starting to look a bit milky and marked after 10 years...so was thinking about re-laquering it.
Anyone done this. Is it as straight forward as it sounds...rub it down a bit with some wet and dry and then apply a few coats of clear laquer as with paint?
Thought I would ask first before fooking things up!:rolleye:

...but what about the parts that have gone a bit milky in colour...that looks quite deep and I'm guessing could go all the way down to the carbon.
Will it dissapear if it is given a freah coat over the top do you think?
I did my air tubes.
just sand them down with fine wet and dry as if you are getting them ready for a final coat. then lacquer.
you can see when they are wet while sanding whether the milky effect has gone

If the milky effect has gone all the way into the carbon fibre then you are stuck with it. If you sand it away then you are also sanding away the carbon and it will be a helluva mess.
Unfortunately you won't find out until you have tried.
Which parts are you talking about?
Are you costing your time (labour) at zero?
