Now I watched the race and rightly they concentrated on the guys at the front, mainly the first 6 riders.
As such did I miss something

Where was the WCM Blatta V6, did it make its debut at the weekend, was it out in practice, did it even put in an appearance.
Or is it all hype.

Didn't make it, from what I was reading the week before it wasn't ready so WCM ran the same engine as before, and James did pretty well

I think you're right, I can't see it being financially viable for the small teams to spend money on something that will be not allowed to run in 2007. I'd imagine all of the teams are currently gearing up for the 800cc lumps, so the major chunk of R&D going there

So with the no show at their home GP it was all hype designed to grab some headlines.
Much better if they let James riding do the talking as you quite often get more than you expected.

Realistically, it was always going to be a huge stretch to bring out a brand new engine this year. And as JPM suggests, the 800 cc announcement likely stopped any activities around the V6.

I am not sure James is that dissappointed. He knows the current bike well and can use it better to continue to demonstrate his talent and skills in search for a better ride in 2006. As an up-and-coming rider you'd surely prefer to ride a competitive bike than try to develop one.
